Ingredients
- 1 (15.3 oz) package Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 16 oz white chocolate melting wafers or almond bark
- Red food coloring (gel preferred)
- Blue food coloring (gel preferred)
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles, for decoration
Instructions
- Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed into crumbs. Alternatively, place them in a large zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese. Mix with a spoon or your hands until well combined and a dough-like consistency is formed.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the Oreo balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or in the freezer for 15 minutes, until firm.
- While the balls are chilling, melt the white chocolate melting wafers according to package directions. Divide the melted chocolate into three separate microwave-safe bowls.
- Leave one bowl of chocolate white. Add a few drops of red food coloring to the second bowl and stir until desired red color is achieved. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to the third bowl and stir until desired blue color is achieved.
- Dip each chilled Oreo ball into one of the colored chocolates, ensuring it’s fully coated. Use a fork or a dipping tool to gently lift the ball out, letting excess chocolate drip off.
- Place the coated Oreo ball back on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Repeat with the remaining Oreo balls and colored chocolates.
- Return the decorated Oreo balls to the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to fully set. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
