These Salted Brownie Cookies deliver exactly that – a truly decadent treat that’s impossible to resist. Perfect for chocolate lovers, they’re surprisingly simple to make and utterly irresistible.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-processed for darker color)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt (for the dough)
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until smooth and well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and fine sea salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed or by hand until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a 1.5-inch cookie scoop or a spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between cookies.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers still look slightly soft and gooey. Do not overbake for maximum chewiness.
- Immediately after removing from the oven, generously sprinkle each cookie with flaky sea salt.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
